Our team is composed of Engineers, Scientists, and Accountants who assist a diverse clientele, from technology start-ups to multi-billion dollar state-owned enterprises, in the commercial aspects of research, development, management, and technology transfer. Swanson Reed is looking for a Recent Graduate in Accounting/Economics to join its dynamic team.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity to use your accounting skills in the financial sector, supporting small and large companies in the mining, manufacturing, and construction sectors in defining their commercially sensitive innovation strategies and business planning.

• You will contribute to structuring R&D activities so that the company can obtain the maximum possible government benefits.
• You will be responsible for the identification, analysis, structuring, costing, modeling, and presentation of highly confidential R&D projects.
• You will provide support in the development of R&D plans.
• You will assist in financial modeling and costing.
• You will collaborate with a wide range of business executives to solve their complex commercial problems.
• You will receive on-the-job training and be mentored until full autonomy is reached.

Requirements

• You hold a degree (or tertiary qualification) in Finance, Accounting, or Tax Law/Economics.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience in manufacturing, construction, general engineering sectors, or in a professional setting (professional firms/consultancy firms) will be considered an advantage.
• A person with an analytical, curious, and technical mindset, and with the desire to be involved in the strategic branding of our business, will excel in this role.
