Our team consists of Engineers, Scientists, and Accountants who assist a diverse clientele, from technology start-ups to multi-billion dollar government-owned corporations, with the commercial aspects of research, development, management, and technology transfer. Swanson Reed is looking for a Graduate in Accounting/Economics to join its dynamic team.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity to support small and large companies, operating in the mining, manufacturing, and construction sectors, in defining their innovation strategies (or “innovation agendas”) of a strategic and commercially sensitive nature.

• You will help structure Research and Development (R&D) activities to enable companies to obtain the maximum available government incentives.
• You will be responsible for the identification, analysis, structuring, cost quantification, and presentation of highly confidential R&D projects.
• You will assist in the development of R&D plans and related cost estimates.
• You will collaborate with a wide range of business executives to solve their complex business issues.
• You will receive on-the-job training and mentoring until full autonomy in the role is achieved.

Requirements

• CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Possession of a University degree in Economics, Engineering, Science, or related fields.
• At least 1 year of experience in the mining, manufacturing, chemical, construction, or general engineering sectors will be considered an asset.
• Previous experience in professional services and in managing R&D tax credit claims is preferred.
